William L. Brunner of Cross Plains/Pine Bluff

Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the ELLESTAD CAMACHO FUNERAL HOME, 500 N 8th St., Mt. Horeb, WI with Fr. Tom Coyle officiating. Inurnment will be at St. Mary’s of Pine Bluff Catholic Cemetery with full military.  A gathering with family and friends will be from 9:30 AM until 10:50 AM on Saturday at the funeral home. We would like to thank the UW Clinics and Wisconsin Dialysis, Fitchburg Clinic for their care and support to Bill and our family.            

William L. Brunner, age 79, of Cross Plains Township, WI died on Tuesday, May 01, 2018 at his home. He was born August 17, 1938 to Frederick and Myla (Zepplin) Brunner in Madison, WI. He was a US Army veteran serving in 1962, at age 23, stationed in Fort Polk, Louisiana, and during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was united in marriage to JoAnn M. Johnson on May 3, 1963 in Pine Bluff, WI. Bill coached his children through softball and baseball for many years. Bill played and coached baseball with the Pine Bluff Home Talent Team for many years. Bill was also an avid bowler. He worked as a Cross Plains Town patrolman until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife: JoAnn, children: Tammy (Mark) Judd of Mt. Horeb, Deb (Jeff) Harms, Chuck Brunner both of Pine Bluff, Julie (fiancé: Brian Paulmert) Brunner of Florida, four grandchildren: Josh (Amanda) Judd, Jessica Judd, Amanda and Shawn Harms, a great-granddaughter: Kendyl Judd, and a step great-granddaughter: Taylor Ferguson, siblings: Daniel (Deb) Brunner of Pine Bluff, H. Dean (Doreen) Brunner of Mt. Horeb, Thomas (Rosemary) Brunner of Verona, brother-in-law: Russell (Rose) Johnson of Blanchardville, sister-in-law: Sharon (Daryl) Hanson of Markesan, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Robert F. Brunner, and a sister-in-law: Dorothy Brunner.
