Horeb High School in 1950 and from the University of Wisconsin Farm Short Course in 1951. He was the first FFA member from Mt. He was a faithful and active member of Springdale Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed and also served on the church council and usher teams as long as he was able. He served on the board of many organizations during his farming career including Mt. Horeb Farmer’s (Premier) Co-Op, Dane-Iowa DHIA, Dane County Holstein Breeders and FFA Alumni. He was a lifetime member of the County, State & National Holstein Breeders Association where he received the Progressive Breeders award and had many dairy animals sold overseas. He was also a lifetime member of the Local, State & National FFA Alumni Association. His first joy was farming the land and keeping up with all conservation practices.
