Christopher “Chris” Thompson, age 44, won his long battle with Leukemia on August 29, 2017.

He was surrounded by his immediate family when he passed peacefully at the UW Hospital in Madison, WI.  Chris was born on February 20, 1973 to Gerald and Mary (Krull) Thompson.  He graduated from Middleton High School in 1991 and from UW Eau Claire in 1996.  He was married to Stefanie Hahn in 1999 and was blessed with 3 wonderful children in the years to come.  Chris was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in 2004.  He fought courageously from 2004 until his death with his Leukemia and other related illnesses.  He continued to fight with the “Thompson” spirit of never giving up.

Chris was a wonderful father and made his children and family the priority of his life.  When Christopher  wasn’t with family, he was focused on his other passions sports and fishing. Chris loved to fish with his brothers, his son, his father and his uncle. He spent too many hours on Ike Walton Lake and Cox Hollow Lake where he always got his limit. Chris loved sports whether he was playing them or watching them. In his younger days, he played baseball and golf and volleyball. As he got older he played softball on the national traveling team and golfed when he could. When Chris wasn’t playing sports he was watching them. Chris never missed a Badger sporting event, and loved his Brewers and Packers.

He is survived by his children, Tyler, Alexis and Brooklyn Thompson, parents, Gerald and Mary Thompson, brother, Michael Thompson, sister, Rebecca (Craig) Johnson, brother, Jon (Sandi) Krueger, his very best friend, Steve Lendosky,  2 nephews, Brett and Michael Johnson other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rex and Ruth Krull and paternal grandparents, Neil and Lucille Thompson.

Memorial services will be at 3:30 PM on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the ELLESTAD CAMACHO FUNERAL HOME, 500 N 8th Street, Mt. Horeb, WI.  A gathering with family and friends will be from 1:30 PM until 3:15 PM on Saturday, September 9 at the funeral home.
