Merry Christmas, Hanukkah and a Happy New Year

During this Christmas season the Camacho’s are thinking and praying for a great Christmas and a Healthy 2019. We also are grateful for the trust, confidence and kindnesses you have given to us these 42 years.  Diego, Judy, Cristina, Diego III and their families.

Your kind words I will carry forever

Dearest Community:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Judy and I are overwhelmed by the tribute given and kind words of continued health and happiness on our retirement.  It was a privilege to have the opportunity to assist you during your difficult times. (I did not do it alone, however, there are many that contributed to my ministry.) We thank you for the honor and will continue to carry you in our grateful heart.  Thank you to the church community for planning and organizing the festivities especially Mt. Horeb Evangelical Lutheran Church for the use of their facilities.  Our community is so very lucky to have such wonderful religious leaders and caring priestly people.  To answer the one question most everyone asked; how could you have done all this? My answer:   You and I are part of God’s creation, made in the image of God. Why not serve God himself through you?                God bless you all.  Diego, Judy, Cristina, & Diego III Camacho

New website to give condolences: www.gundersonfh.com

Judy and I have welcomed the Gunderson Family to continue serving you in our retirement. Pete, Vickie, Matt and the rest of the Gunderson Family will continue the Camacho traditions in serving our beloved communities with dignity, integrity and respect. Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8 has revealed to me over my years while celebrating funerals that: “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:  A time to be born, and a time to die;….., and a time of peace.”  Now for Judy and I, there is a time for recognizing that the privilege and ministry I have had for 42 years of taking care of the dead human body, (in my view, the temple of the Holy Spirit and the creation of God’s image), together with the living relatives and friends must come to an end. The time is here for retirement.  To take a break from my beloved profession and get ready for the next steps in this amazing life journey. The time has come to take some time for myself and family. I leave this beloved profession with no regrets; I gave it my all. It is a wonderful life; full and complete with the greatest of loves and a great ministry to those in need that make it worth living. I am sad that the time has come to end this wonderful privilege you have gifted me with but happy for what is ahead of us. I hope to enjoy the fruits that Judy, Cristina, Diego III and I worked so hard for. I leave with the knowledge that my family contributed 100%, (with some sacrifice), to the beloved profession that I was intended to live and profess since 1976. To the communities of Middleton, Sauk-Prairie, Darlington, Monroe, Verona, Mt. Horeb, and Black Earth and surrounding areas that allowed me to serve them during a very trying, emotional and difficult time, I want to thank God and You for the trust, confidence and good-will accorded to me and my family. Thank you, my extended family! Until we see each other again. I “remain”, simply Diego Camacho, Jr.   August 09, 2018 ~  Moving forward please use www.gundersonfh.com for obituaries and condolences.
